Privacy Notice
The Second Bid has no accounts, forms, cookies or ad trackers; web fonts and click-to-play videos are the only requests your browser makes to other companies.

What is collected
This site doesn't ask you for anything. There are no accounts, sign-ups, comment boxes or forms, so no name, address or message is collected. The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers or analytics scripts.
Fonts and videos
Two kinds of outside request can happen when you read a page.
- Fonts. The site's typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser requests the font files from Google's servers. Google receives the standard details any web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type.
- Videos. Some pages include a YouTube video, and these are click-to-play. Before you click, only the thumbnail image loads, from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com). The video player itself loads from youtube-nocookie.com only after you click play. From that point, YouTube's own privacy terms apply to the video.
If you never press play, no YouTube player loads on the page.
Server logs
The company that hosts this site keeps standard server logs, as web hosts do. A log entry typically records the page requested, the time, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and The Second Bid does not use them to build profiles of readers.
Links to outside sources, such as government agencies or equipment makers, take you to their sites, where their own privacy terms apply.
Changes
If the site adds anything that changes what is described here, such as a new outside service, this notice will be updated first, and the update date on the page will change with it. More on how the site works is on using this site and the about page.
